CHEER 2011

That was fun~
Well, at least for me, it's another whole new experience!
Last time I went, I went as a participant, but this time, I went as a reporter! >.<

Oh it's damn good cuz' reporters with cameras and passes can go right in front of the stage to shoot the prize giving ceremony!
Other thing, the art of cheerleading in photography is also nice, but tooo bad I didn't master that DSLR yet, so all the photos are damn bad!
I only uploaded some on FB, here's the link!

Because this year's competition added a Co-ed catergory, it was then made simplier for the boys team to get the prizes without competiting with the girls team. It's a strange thing though, boys are supposed to be more powerful in stunts and dances, but normally the girls team are the ones that got champion. Maybe girl's are more flexible and sexy-looking in dances, well, Girl Power!

I love Zodiac all boys, they're my school team, and they got 3rd in the co-ed category. But I can't believe come thought that they could get 1st because they got 1st in minor competitions lately~ I ain't mocking them , it's that...don't they know how hard CHEER 2011 is?

Zodiac girl's aren't bad, the new flyers are all so thin and small! Envy, I always wanted to be a flyer, but considering my weight...T.T Almost all of them know how to do a front walkover too, sad!!!(I can't)

I hope I can join the spirit of cheer next year cuz' it's my final year in school, I quitted and haven't joined back becuz' I don't have time~ I love Gym, Dance & Cheer!>.<

Tips on Being a Reporter

Going to interview someone for your school mag?
First job as a newbie in a dream mag?

What's to do is to get ready!

Yesterday was my school's sports day and I was supposed to write a news for it (or article, which way you put it), but since I'm learning on how to take photos, I put all of my energy on shooting and snapping, and therefore forgot the important part--INTERVIEW!

You can't pop into an event and go straight to the main star of the day saying you want an interview and go speechless in the end, you'll embarass yourself, even worse, your company!

So here's some tips that maybe will help.

1.MOST BASIC: PREPARE YOUR QUESTIONS
Make sure what event you are going to, make sure who's the star of the day, if possible, make sure that you know when he/she is free for interview, book a time with him/her is best. With all of these info, you could prepare some questions you couldn't conjure up last minute. This way, you wouldn't end up forgetting to ask important questions because of you nervousness during the interview. But of course, you can add or cancell questions according to his/her response.

2.TAKE NOTES
Two kinds of notes you are gonna make here:
First: notes on what he/she's gonna say. I mean, you can't write every word he/she pops out of her mouth with normal speed, so take notes instead, prepare symbols to easify and quicken your note taking.
Second: now this is the main one (skip this you may if you're already used to stuff like this), write down what you should do on a corner of your blank sheet used to jot down the interview. What should you do? Introduce youself, name, company, what you're writing for, what topic is your article about etc. And don't forget to say thanks after the interview even if he/she rejected it.

3.PREPARE YOURSELF
Not as in note-taking preparations, as in stuff preparations. Check what should you bring and what's going to burden you. What you should bring is note pad (for jotting down stuff), pen (with ink, not those with a little left), recorder (if needed, there's one in your handphone maybe), camera (DSLR is better for large events but if you just want a pic of him/her, a normal one will do), and your identity card (the one that proves that you're a reporter, it's very important!) Of course, this are my necessities, there may be more to you so, be flexible ok?

4.LOOKS
They say 1st impression is important, so goes for interviews too. You represent your company/ magazine, and if you dress unformally, what would they think of you? I mean if someone who dresses like a laid-back, everyday-street style came to say that they wanna interview you, and that they were from an infamous fashion magazine, you would be like: "are you sure you work for them?"
The things you wanna look out for is:
-make up: not too much for sports event and not too little for fashion events
-hair: pony tail for outdoor and maybe let down for air-cond events
-attire: no high heels for sports because you may wanna go down to the grass, nothing sexy for business events etc
-expressions/response: don't go frightening him/her by showing a shock look on your face when you've found out something that you didn't know, it's totally embarassing!

Well, that's all I have for today, hope this helps all aspring journalits, reporters, editors etc. Give me a reply once you've go through your interview, BYE~

Relieving Stress

I'm starting to regret allowing my mom to allow me to go tuition.

Yes, I allow her to allow me. Normally I don't, but this time is going to be a total exception. Seeing as my studies are falling behind, way behind, and there is so many other things that I have to do, I can't plan my time properly to finish everything in time. On the other hand, there is this Femine 30 camp for us to run donations and try starvation! I want to go, man the donations were hard to collect, but my mom won't let me go. So in exchange, I allow her to let me go tuition. (As if British Council isn't enough)

So that adds to my stress, and such a coincidence it is, that there were a column on how students relieve stress (yes, all opinions by real life Malaysian students!)

So here's a lil something of it + my own ways:

1)Internet!
YOu can't say no to this, the entertainment is unlimited here!

2)Listen to music!
MUsic are picked according to our mood of course! Then again, shuffle in also allowed. Let everything out! (There was someone who preferred to listen to Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song XD)

3)Fiction Babe
Read or write, these only apply to to book worms or aspring writers. Doing what people desire isn't a bad thing anyway :)

4)Gaming!
NOt just any RPG, not any pixeled Gameboy Advance, but PS1,2,3, NIntendo, Wii and so on. Those that uses the big screen! Cool action, nice graphics! They take you into another fantasy world, enjoy!
(My fav: Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series, maybe others from Square Enix too)

5)Watch a movie
Same reason as the above, bet almost everyone will love it.

Is that the time? GOtta go, going to be late for class, Ciao!
(PS: Like my new theme? Gosh it took me ages to modify the HTML code)

Cheer Fever + the recent me

Gosh I miss cheerleading!
I had to quit my school team cuz' it clashes with my swimming practice.
And now I'm not even swimming, but I still can't add more stress to my life since I'm busy with the Student reporter jobs.
Maybe I'll join back next year, it's my last year in my school after all.

What's gotten into me actually?
Have I suddenly want to be in the spotlight?
Have I got a crush on a current team member? (ppft!)

Guess I'm missing the sporty side of mine (becuz of all the business this year, I could hardly train my handstand!)...And my friends in class aren't really into sports either, sad eh?
CHEER 2011 (a national cheer comp) is arriving soon, and it's been delayed.
As a student reporter I'm planning on interviewing my team, hope there's no meeting on that day~
C3 is before CHEER 2011, but should I interview them on this event?

Gah! I'm really missing the dances and tumbling.
Recently I'm having attempts on learning a back handspring (although I don't know how to roll backwards nor  walkover), the vids on YouTube sure are kinda helpful, but I got my first injury yesterday.
My knee knocked onto sth hard, although the scar/redness are small, but god that really hurts for the rest of the day!
Hope I'll be able to do a back handspring before rejoining Zodiac in 2012~
REACH FOR THE STARS~

Recently I'm being stressed!
That's why I'm always wanting some pleasure, but don't seem to get them.
I think I'm escaping the questions when I ask myself about them.
I don't want to think too much...
Here a list of a part of what I'm stressed about:
1=Cannot play my role as an aassistant leader of a group in the Student Reporter comitee.
2=Cannot adjust my time between work and study and play and cheer
3=Cannot catch up with Physics, Maths and Add Maths
4=Cannot fit into my group of friends, our likes and dislikes don't match much...
5=Dealing with a certain friend of mine who knows how to criticize others but not know how to look at herself much...
6=Dealing with my dad who keep on accusing me of many stuff and won't listen and thinks I'm childish!

Because I'm being accused a lot ever since I'm young, I have the fear of scoldings.
But I cannot keep this on...
If I am not brave enough to tell others that they are wrong, I cannot do my best as assistant monitor nor assistant group leader.
I have to get much better, I want to see the me I want to be in the near future.
REACH AGAIN FOR THE STARS
